Is This Course For Me?
Do you struggle with setting boundaries, standing up for yourself, or finding balance between caring for others and your own well-being?
This Fierce Self-compassion retreat style training over two weekends is open to all – however some prior experience with mindfulness and self-compassion is recommended.
Based on the pioneering work of Dr. Kristin Neff, this course offers a powerful approach to self-compassion not only as a source of comfort but also as a force for action and change.
Since the publication of Kristin Neff’s ground-breaking book Self-Compassion, there has been a surge of interest in the science and practice of self-compassion. The 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion course was developed from Kristin Neff’s research and Chris Germer’s clinical knowledge. This has often focused on the tender, nurturing aspect of self-compassion, which involves “being with” ourselves in a compassionate way
This Fierce Self-Compassion course will take you one step further as you learn how self-compassion can help you speak up and claim your power by exploring the action-oriented side of self-compassion that begins with the inner work of fierce self-compassion
What is Fierce Self-Compassion?
Tender self-compassion allows you to soothe and nurture yourself, while fierce self-compassion helps you take empowered action, advocate for your needs, and make positive changes in your life.
Fierce Self-Compassion Includes:
Taking action in the world to protect, provide, and motivate ourselves to alleviate suffering and thrive.
Being able to say “no” to others who are hurting us – Beginning to draw our boundaries firmly.
Saying “no” to our own harmful behaviours, so that we can be safe and healthy.
Giving ourselves what we genuinely need – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
When these two aspects are in balance, you can face life’s challenges with resilience, confidence, and authenticity.
