Come join us on this experiential and rich exploration of Forgiveness for Self and Others
The intention for the weekend is to:
- Practice fierce self-compassion with words and gestures
- Review the theory and research on self-forgiveness
- Explore 5 steps to forgiveness for harm we may have caused ourselves.
We Will learn
- That self-forgiveness requires strength that can come from fierce self-compassion.
- Practice the three aspects of fierce self-compassion before learning self-forgiveness.
- Learn how to forgive ourselves for harm we have caused.
- Explore the five steps to forgiveness as taught by Dr. Chris Germer, one of the founders of the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion (CMSC).
These steps pertain equally to forgiveness of oneself and forgiveness of others. They are:
- Mindfulness
- Self-compassion
- Wisdom
- Intention to forgive
- Responsibility to protect
Using Exercises/Practices and experiential learning we will also explore
The Fourfold Path as described by
Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter Mpho Tutu in their book:
The Book of Forgiving
The Fourfold Path to Healing Ourselves and our World
